do you read certain books at particular times/ places/ events?
over the past ten years or so, i half unconsciously read certain books in particular places, or at particular times (winter/summer, or feeling sad etc), or in certain weather.
do you do this too?
i decided not to do it last year, and my january and feb felt weird without re-reading the kraken wakes, the triffids, the secret garden, and some others- through to the railway children. the books are initially quite bleak, but go through to the railway children, which is sad/happy. for some reason they link well one to another, and matched the weather; bleak, becoming brighter.
the easter holidays, when i usually go to cornwall, felt totally different without ‘the riddle of the sands’ being read by a beach somewhere (or looking out on a beach if its raining, which is generally is) and again this seemed to marry with the sea smells, rain, wind etc. and the summer felt wrong without the clark diaries (elder and son), which ive read each july or august for about 7 years- along with the richard hanny books by john buchan- 39 steps etc.
when really depressed and dont want to move, i hide in bed and read the enid blyton adventure series- the castle of adventure, valley of adventure, etc, and in winter i pig out on wodehouse and agatha christie.
so this year im going back to my set books for set times, weathers and places, and feel much better…
anyone else mark events and places with specific books?
or turn to the same ones to reflect your thoughts, or the weather?
When I go away I like to read fiction based in the locality in which I am staying, for example, if I am in the Lake District, I would read Arthur Ransome.

Very sociable guy but never had a real girlfriend?
Okay so this is a weird question but lately it’s really been bothering me. So not to brag or anything but at school I am very well known. Lots of people ( boys and girls) come up to me and talk to me in the halls or at lunch before I even know their names sometimes. It makes me feel aweful. I wouldn’t call myself popular but just approachable I guess. I also usually have no problem making people laugh. I can almost always make someone laugh. But I’m a senior in high school and I have never had a real girlfriend. I’ve had "things" where I’ve had a crush on a girl and she’s liked me back and well talk a lot but they never turn into a relationship. Truth is, outside of school I’m actually Sort of a no one. I don’t do much of anything. This is something no one would guess by looking at me at school. I am extrremely outgoing and girls have told me I’m cute but never wanted to actually go out with me. To make it worse, we have a girls ask the guys dance coming up in about a week and I have not been asked. I really want to be asked, but don’t think I will now.
So my question is what is wrong with me? What do girls not see in me? I don’t want to graduate high school never having a serious relationship. Thanks ahead of time.
I graduated high school without ever having a serious relationship. It’s not that bad. You might need to be more "aggressive" and tell the girl how you feel. My problem was being to shy and when girls would tell me they liked me I’d become scared, so when the girl says she likes you take her on dates and spend time with her.

LOL, Im not laughing at you. Imlaughing at how much this reminded me of myself when i was 18. Thats about the time i stopped caring what people thought of me. I did the whole hookup with girls thing.. Got boring really fast. I needed substance, so i started hanging out with girls to find someone i could be with long term, I found one and she is everything i want and so much more. You are obviously still young and in school, Your time will come sir, you will find someone who cares for you, just dont give up on the most important person… yourself.

There’s nothing wrong with you. I was like that. After I graduated and moved to Florida, I found the love of my life. I’m engaged to her now. Just because you don’t havea gf doesn’t mean theres something wrong with you. Just means that you know what you want and you haven’t found it yet. When you find the one, you’ll know it. I used to be like that.
I finished highschool and went to college, and as soon as I got there, I pretty much had a string of girlfriends. I’ve not been single since, and that was years and years ago.
As bad as it sounds, the key to getting a girlfriend is by already having one.
But to start… well, you just need to find someone you find attractive enough, (accept that your first will not be the one for you), and you’ll find it much easier after that.

Estranged husband filed false 1099misc on grown daughter to cause problems for her to get to me?
After almost 40 years & 4 grown children, I’m finally divorcing my controlling,physically.verbally/emotionally abusive husband. He has always controlled all the finances and I have had very little if any knowledge of what actually goes on with finances. We had an emergency hearing a month ago and the Judge did a no contact order on him, so he cannot have any contact with me Right off the bat he disconnected our daughter’s phone which was his company plan, then he had her car insurance dropped from his company plan, then on top of that he told the insurance company that the car was housed out of state (which it had been for several years before as she was at college out of state & he paid it all along) so that she has to pay for taxes,tags & registration in another state when it was paid up until next Nov.
Then, just yesterday she got 1099misc in the mail from his accountant saying he paid her $11000.00 this last year which is FALSE. She printed out all her bank statements which showed each and every deposit made into her account this last year.( She lives several states away and has a full time job). Other than her bi monthly direct deposits that show up each month, there is only a handful of other deposits made to her account none of them more than $200. Does anyone know what she can do to dispute this?
Tax fraud is a federal crime. She should file a police report. His harassment may have pissed her off enough to do just that.

Since she is an adult, then she has to deal with this herself; you can’t do it for her.
But my advice is for her to turn him in to the IRS. They will then investigate and he will have to produce evidence that he paid her. He sounds pretty shady, so don’t be surprised if there is a bank account somewhere in your daughter’s name that has his name on it also…maybe an account he opened for her (or without her knowledge) when she was a minor. If he made direct deposits to her account, or transferred money from a business account to her account, then it will look like he did indeed "pay" her the money.
But your daughter needs to be proactive. She might want to call the accountant first and ask why she received a 1099 from her dad. Tell her to play innocent, like she doesn’t know what a 1099 is and get as much information as she can. Then tell her to call her dad and get more detailed information. Then have her call the IRS and report everything she knows to them.
Honestly, he must be a complete moron if he doesn’t see that this is not hurting you, it’s hurting his daughter.

How unfortunate that he’s attempting to punish you by lashing out at your child.
A 1099 may be issued if a company paid a non-employee more than $600. So, if your ex was sending money to his daughter from company accounts, he may be legally obligated to issue the 1099. If the amount he is alleging he paid out to her does not equal the amount she received from him, then there are problems.
Your daughter needs to contact an accountant of her own, to have a proper audit of any income from her father. Once her accountant has established what deposits may have come from her father, she needs to contact her father’s accountant to get an amended 1099 from him. If there’s no proof she ever received any income from her father, then she’ll need to report this to the IRS, as this is blatant fraud.

If you’re wondering why you havn’t gotten an answer yet is because your question is a big wall of TEXT. Try NOT using capitals for every character.
You’ve done an apprenticeship and owned two small businesses and you can’t do basic maths. Anyway, you can’t really study for the test, I found it really difficult but still passed. Best advice i can give, is to answer the ones you know and leave the ones you don’t, as that way you wont get any wrong seeing as you didn’t answer them, i believe that’s how they look at it.
If you’re going enlisted soldier, I really doubt they’ll be too concerned if you can’t do advanced trigonometry and variable equations.

What games do you guys think I should get and why?
Alright so my birthday is coming up on the 28th and someone wants to get me a new game for my PS3. So far we plan to get GH5 but I’m not too sure if I want to get it. I heard that MAG comes out around the 26th or something like that and I kinda liked it. But I only have 1 Guitar Hero and the one I have sucks so I want a better one. I’ve been thinking I could just get it later on and maybe get another game instead, I don’t really know too much about the new releases or top sellers I just want a game that might suit what I like.

Lately I’ve been playing a lot of shooting games but my favorite genre are the awesome RPGs. I don’t know of too many of them though so yeah. I’m considering getting Resident Evil 5 or MAG. Personally I don’t want to buy Uncharted without renting it since it doesn’t seem like that good of a game, well it won’t interest me anyway. In the end I got Tekken 6 which is a kind of confusing game and I might return it. But I will check out one of the suggestions on Gamestop.
since you like RPG’s I suggest you try valkyria chronicles it came out a couple of years ago and was a great RPG. The game itself got great reviews from critics. Good game play story is about a small town getting caught in the middle of the war and they fight to save their home town. game is also only 20 dollars you can find it at gamestop. and since its only 20 dollars maybe you can get two games

Resident Evil 5 isn’t really that good of a game.
I suggest getting Uncharted 2. It won Game of the Year 2009 from many gaming websites like Game Informer, IGN, Destructoid, 1UP, G4TV and many more. It’s an amazing game and a must have for the PS3.
For RPG’s, you can wait for Final Fantasy 13. There’s Borderlands which is a hybrid shooter and rpg game. Make your choice.

It appears that you enjoy well-acted movies about people with major character flaws that need to be explored and dealt with. That said, I liked the movie called Normal (2003) starring Jessica Lange, Tom Wilkinson, and Hayden Panettiere so much that I bought a copy of it. http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0338290/

Very… VERY good WW2 (sniper) Movies?
Hi, I’m looking for a very good WW2 movie… Preferably set around Snipers. I loved "Enemy at the Gates" and am looking for movies along the lines of such.
I already know of movies like Full Metal Jacket… Saving Private Ryan… And the show Band of Brothers. I also know other famous movies like Wind-talkers which again, propaganda.
Any underrated/forgotten good WW2 movies in the past 20 years?
"When Trumpets Fade" not a sniper movie though, but a real underrated gem of a movie about the Battle for Heurtgen Forest in WW2, it came out around the same time as "Saving Private Ryan", but in my opinion was better than SPR plotwise. Unfortunately, it got overshadowed and ignored due to all the hype surrounding Spielberg’s war movie.

Here he begins yet another attempt to improve his abysmal record – this time as the coach of the football team at Heartland State University. But he is saddled with a team of misfits – most of whom don’t know the difference between a line of scrimmage and a line at the cafeteria. Coach is in serious need of some real talent to beef up his line-up and finds his number one recruit on the university’s baseball diamond. The ever-so-handsome Lance Truman (Matthew Lawrence) brings with him a distinguished award winning career – albeit for the most dropped balls – as well as determination. Coach convinces Truman to join the team as quarterback, and the young athlete comes on board despite the objection of his father (Nick Searcy). Wearing jersey #1 is Trotter, the bling-wearing, girl magnet wide receiver who can actually catch and run with the ball, as long as his over-sized ego does not get in the way. The biggest bruiser of the team is Buddy Boy, but he turns out to be more warm and cuddly than the mean sonofabitch that Coach longs for. The rest of the team includes the upbeat and handsome, Aseel Tare, who is always ready for action despite an uncanny tendency for injury; tattooed and angry Jorge Juanson who has a chip on his shoulder, and the delusion of being from the barrio; Jizminder, a beautiful, British-Indian soccer player, who takes on the role of kicker and is the only female player on the otherwise all male squad; and lastly, is the runt of the group, Randy, who is always begging for a chance to play despite his minuscule stature, and lack of any discernible football skills…unless you count moxie. Serving as Coach’s right hand man is IPod, although he is often misunderstood, the good-hearted, music listening IPod keeps the team smiling. Although the team and townsfolk are leery of the newcomer’s approach, the Coach uses his unorthodox methods to whip this group of rag-tags into shape – both on and off the field. While the audience follows their winding road to the playoffs, the film pokes fun at the cliches and conventions of other sports flicks. And the team does make progress, so much so that they actually make it to the South-Southwest Conference Championship at the 2nd Annual Toilet Bowl. Facing their fiercest opponents yet and yearning to win the big game, The Comebacks face off with the Lone Star State Unbeatables. And as every great sports team has always done, The Comebacks use ingenuity and unorthodox measures in the final showdown where the best team wins. |

Once upon a time there was a very cute pure hearted angel called Loosh ,, she was so adorable that every1 who saw her wanted to be her slave jus to talk to her !! She had a sister called nounz ,, they did evrythn together ,, and they never kept anythn frm each other ! Whenever loosh is feelin down , noun is the shoulder n the warm hug ,, n whenever noun is falling , Loosh is the one to catch her ,, they were so close that they shared the same soul , as they said.
They made a lot of promises to each other n they were never broken ! Even when they had kids they named them after each other ,, they nevr parted ,, n never will !
i think you have got yourself a real sweet BFF there ..
